Stephanie Handjiska is a choreographer, director and dance artist.

She graduated an MA Contemporary Dance, specializing in Choreography with honours from London School of Contemporary Dance in 2020. Her MA thesis examines the vulnerability of choreographic work in the conditions of capitalism.
Stephanie holds an ATLAS scholarship from ImPulsTanz 2019 and IKAR nomination for contemporary dance and performance with her work Ion ( a play on adoption ).
Stephanie is currently working between Sofia and London, where she is currently taking 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training at TripSpace London Yoga and Dance.
Her stage work is exploring femininity, capitalism and the notion of success.

Stephanie is the author of stage performance 84 DIALS (2021), Presence <> Absence (2019), SOFT QUESTIONS (2019), Ion (play for the adopted) (2017), TheTmeStopper and others.
In 2020 she was selected with her solo Presence <> Absence for the prestigious British festival Dance Umbrella.
Stephanie is interested in the dance film and is actively working to develop the genre in Bulgaria. He is the author of the films Glance from the Edge and INNER BLOOM together with Bulgarian director Kosta Karakashyan.


In 2021, together with Silvia Cherneva and Kosta Karakashyan, he created the first holistic dance film program of its kind, Focus Screendance, produced by the Man with a Hat Foundation.
Stephanie is a choreographer and assistant choreographer of several advertising productions, and has worked for clients such as TKMAXX, Investec, FRESH Egypt and others.
